Biphasic Sleep: Day 3

September 2, 2009

11:00am (Wednesday)
I have been Feeling a little bit more tired today than I have over the past couple of days. I woke up a little hazy, and and the haze has persisted throughout the morning. I still feel as though I am working well and getting quite a bit done.

1:13am (Thursday)
During the afternoon today, I started feeling better, and while I was tired, I really didn't feel too bad. I have been feeling like I have a good energy level, and that the tiredness is mostly in my eyes and head. Hopefully my energy level maintains itself, since I do feel like I am getting a lot done. I was in a fantastic mood this afternoon and into the evening as well. Perhaps this is a side affect of actually getting things accomplished!

My evening nap (8pm-9:30pm) was great. I woke up from the nap feeling pretty refreshed, after a couple of minutes of feeling a little groggy. Since then, I have been working well, and aside from a mild tiredness in my eyes and head, I'm feeling pretty good.

The falling asleep period has been a little different than when I was on my monophasic sleep schedule, and a little odd, but interesting. As I am falling asleep, I begin dreaming and become aware that I am dreaming. I wouldn't call it lucid dreaming, because I don't think I am fully asleep; I can still hear sounds from the real world and I can easily wake myself up if I move. It's just an odd realization, when after a couple minutes of dreaming, I become aware, and begin thinking that the thoughts in my head are odd. I soon realize that my thoughts are odd because it's a dream, and I'm not really in control of my thoughts at that point.
