I came across SolarCity's solar panel leasing program today. Seems like a great program that removes the largest barrier from people using solar--the large upfront cost. Now you can just lease the cells, and they will take care of the installation and maintenance. Of course the lease needs to be less than an electric bill, but if it is, this could potentially be a very good option.
